Another financial year comes to an end. Another year in the life of Augusta Golf Cars Pty Ltd
and its partners in Australia.
As you will read in the article below AGC will celebrate its
10th year anniversary at the end of June this year.
We started AGC in July’04 when we
took over the EZGO agency from the factory branch that was running in Australia at that time. We have
over the last 10 years invested in our infrastructures, stocks, resources and our dealer network all of
which has contributed towards the success we can boast having achieved over this period.
We
started out with a staff of 3 people, took over a very small base of not very active dealers and also
had claim to less than 5% market share of the fleet golf car market in Australia.
Today we
permanently employ approximately 25 people in 3 branch locations and have a very active dealer network
of approximately 40 companies spread nationally throughout all of Australia together with very capable
and resourced dealers in Fiji and New Caledonia. Our share of the fleet golf car market is currently estimated
to be in the region of 35% of the market nationally and growing. In addition we have made massive inroads
in the non-golf sectors which success in this sector is just as gratifying as the increase in the fleet
golf car market.
A huge thanks and cheers must go to my fellow directors, staff, business partners
and clients, all of who have helped to contribute to our successes over the last 10 years.
It is fitting that our anniversary coincides with our principal’s anniversary of 60 years - as they
have said in their celebration notices, it is a milestone that not many companies reach and for that we
say congratulations and wish you many more years to come.
Times are changing rapidly and with
it the golf industry which includes golf cars. The last couple of years have been challenging and I don’
t see that letting up in the short term - there are in my opinion just too many issues and hurdles that
currently stand in the way of the next economic upturn.
I see all of us working a lot harder
for a lot less for some time until we see a clearer picture of where our economy together with the golf
industry is headed. I am still looking for those signs that will convince me that where it’s going
is actually Northwards!
Nevertheless we can take comfort and solace in the following:
- we have a very powerful, well managed and innovative partner in EZGO Textron USA who continue to
produce superb products for us to sell ;
- we have a wonderful group of staff who are poised
to help take AGC to the next level of success; and
- we have an excellent national dealer network
who in general are as committed and passionate as we are about what we do.
All of the above
combined are the pillars of strength that will ensure the continued and increasing success of AGC and
the EZGO, Cushman and Bad Boy brands into 2015 and beyond.
