The National: A perfect venue with a perfect fleet
Written on the 2 November 2017
One of Australia's most prestigious golfing venue's, The National, recently took delivery of a fleet of E-Z-GO RXV's.
The 54 hole golf complex, situated in the Mornington peninsula took delivery of 85 'Forest Green' E-Z-GO RXV's prior to Christmas.
The National consists of three courses.
The Old course, designed in 1988 by Robert Trent Jones jnr, is a hilly course which combines coastal views, challenging ball carries and rolling putting surfaces.
The Moonah course, designed by Australian golfing champion Greg Norman was opened in 2000, 12 years after the original Old Course. This course boasts some of the best fairways in Australia. It is however, the bunkers that characterize this course; the bunkers are generally scruffy with long, flimsy grass framing the edges.
The Ocean course, designed by Thomson, Wolveridge and Perret, also opened in 2000, two months after the Moonah. Although this course is considered slightly easier than the Moonah course, it is a links styled course featuring pot bunkers placed in the middle of the fairway, and is no walk over.
Mats Marklund, Augusta Golf Cars State manager for Victoria, said that the E-Z-GO RXV is the perfect vehicle for this venue from a performance and safety point of view.
Mr. Marklund said "The three courses are very demanding on electric vehicles as there are many slopes and tough terrain,
"They [The National] were very particular about the service and support that comes with the vehicles; this was an important factor in the decision making."
It is however, not only the course management that is impressed with what Augusta Golf Cars have to offer.
Residents of the complex are following the Club's suit and joining team E-Z-GO.
12 Residents living in The National's complex have purchased E-Z-GO RXV's, with many more waiting in the wings.
With numerous standard features and a whole host of optional extras it is no wonder that the management and residents alike have confidently backed these impressive vehicles.
